Understand the task

Resizing changes a pixel grid. Keeping the aspect ratio avoids stretching. A 1200×800 image reduced to 600 pixels wide becomes 600×400. Enlarging interpolates existing pixels; it does not recover missing detail or perform AI enhancement.

What this tool does

Resize by pixels or percentage, keep proportions and prevent accidental enlargement.

How to use

  1. Choose image
  2. Choose pixels or percentage. With aspect ratio locked, edit either dimension to update the other. Set enlargement prevention, create a preview and check the final pixel dimensions.
  3. Downloads re-encode pixels and remove source metadata. JPEG fills transparent areas with the selected background.

Limits and common errors

Dimensions are whole pixels, so ratios can differ slightly after rounding. Percentage mode rounds each side to at least one pixel. The quality setting controls file encoding, not the resize algorithm.

Questions and answers

Will this change the print size or DPI?

This tool changes pixel dimensions and removes source metadata, including DPI tags. Physical print size depends on the printer’s chosen pixel density. Set print density separately in your printing software.
