Checkerboard areas indicate transparency. Previews fit the screen; downloads keep the displayed pixel dimensions.

Drag on the original to select a rectangle, or enter exact pixel coordinates. Presets center a new crop.

Downloads re-encode pixels and remove source metadata. JPEG fills transparent areas with the selected background.

Understand the task

Cropping removes pixels outside a rectangle without scaling the retained region. Coordinates begin at the top-left, with left=0 and top=0. A crop at left=100, top=50, width=400, height=300 keeps exactly that 400×300 region.

What this tool does

Crop with an exact pixel rectangle or drag a selection, with centered aspect-ratio presets.

How to use

  1. Choose image
  2. Choose a ratio preset or drag a rectangle on the original. Fine-tune left, top, width and height using the numeric fields, then create a preview and download.
  3. Downloads re-encode pixels and remove source metadata. JPEG fills transparent areas with the selected background.

Limits and common errors

Presets make a centered crop. Dragging or manually editing switches to a free rectangle. The crop must remain inside the source; there is no outpainting, circular crop or automatic subject detection.

Questions and answers

Does cropping reduce image quality?

The retained region keeps its original pixel dimensions. PNG export preserves decoded pixels within that rectangle. JPEG and WebP export introduce their own lossy encoding; choosing a higher quality cannot recover pixels removed by the crop.
