How it works
A calendar date identifies a Gregorian day without a time zone. A clock time identifies a second within a fixed 24-hour day. Unix seconds identify instants relative to 1970-01-01 UTC. These are different candidate spaces and are kept in separate modes.
What you can do
Sample calendar dates, clock times or UTC Unix seconds, with optional date and clock perturbation.
How to use it
- Choose dates, clock times or Unix seconds. Enter both inclusive bounds and count; select without replacement, order and date filter if needed. To perturb existing values choose date or clock fuzz, paste one value per line and set a maximum offset.
- Review the result and notes, then copy or download. Editing any input clears the previous result.
Errors and limits
* or blank means all; default years 2000–2100. Invalid calendar combinations are omitted. Uniform sampling over valid date × time combinations; unique refers to full values, so a template hiding fields can show repeated text. Up to 10,000 results. Tokens: [YYYY] [YY] [MM] [MMM] [MMMM] [DD] [ddd] [dddd] [HH] [hh] [mm] [ss] [A]. Civil time without zones or DST.
Dates use years 0001–9999, without holidays. Clock ranges cannot cross midnight; fuzzed clocks wrap at midnight. Weekday filters use Monday–Friday, not working-day calendars. Fuzz adds independent offsets and may create duplicates; the no-replacement setting does not apply to fuzz.
Frequently asked questions
Are February 29 and both endpoints included?
A real leap day is eligible when it falls within the range and the weekday filter allows it. With no filter, 2024-02-28 through 2024-03-01 contains exactly three dates. Selecting all three without replacement returns each once.
