Random generators
How it works
A generated password draws characters from an allowed pool. Length and pool size affect how many candidates exist. A PIN uses only ten digits, so a short PIN has fewer possibilities. Random generation cannot protect against phishing, malware or password reuse.
What you can do
Generate local character passwords or PINs with explicit length and character rules.
How to use it
- Choose a character password or PIN. Set length and count. For passwords select lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols, optionally exclude similar characters and require every selected group. Generate, copy the result and save it in your password manager.
- Review the result and notes, then copy or download. Editing any input clears the previous result.
Errors and limits
Character passwords: 8–128 characters. PINs: 4–128 digits. At most 1,000 results. Excluding similar characters removes I, l, 1, O, 0 and o from passwords; PINs retain all digits. This page does not store a password history or offer a password vault.
Frequently asked questions
Does selecting symbols guarantee a symbol?
Only when “include every selected group” is enabled. That rule rejects candidates missing a chosen group and generates again. With the rule disabled, symbols are allowed but an individual result may contain none. Each generation is independent.
Are inputs or generated values uploaded?
No. Generation runs in this browser tab. Inputs and results are not added to URLs, uploaded or stored between visits. Copying and downloading happen only when requested. Your browser clipboard and saved files can remain after you leave.
