How it works

A numeric list is a series of measurable values. The mean is the sum divided by the count; the median is the middle sorted value, or the mean of the two middle values.

What you can do

Sum or multiply values, find extrema, calculate population statistics, sort exactly, round decimal places or keep values strictly above or below a threshold. Finite decimals remain exact; repeating results stay fractions.

How to use it

  1. Paste numbers separated by whitespace, commas or semicolons. Choose an operation. For rounding set decimal places; for filtering set the threshold.
  2. Calculate, inspect the result details, then copy or download TXT. Ctrl/⌘ + Enter also calculates. Editing clears old results; Undo restores input and settings.

Errors and limits

Maximum 200 values. Use decimal points; commas are separators, never thousands marks. Invalid tokens stop the calculation instead of being silently ignored. Rounding resolves ties away from zero. Standard deviation is approximate; variance uses division by N, not N−1.

Decimal digit operations ignore signs and the dot, preserve typed digits and reject fraction notation. Palindrome: 1 yes, 0 no. Filters use exact numeric values; digit containment searches their normalized representation without trailing decimal zeros.

Limits: 100,000 input characters per box, 100 digits per numeric token, 200 input values and 200,000 output characters. Fraction numerators and denominators and sequence terms are limited to 5000 digits. Scientific notation is not accepted.

Calculations run in a separate browser worker. Cancel stops the job; the 8-second time limit also covers worker loading. Try a smaller batch after a timeout.

Frequently asked questions

Why does this tool return 0.3 for 0.1 + 0.2?

Decimal inputs are converted to exact fractions before arithmetic, avoiding binary floating-point rounding. Sorting also compares exact values, so integers larger than 2⁵³ keep their order. A repeating result such as 1/3 is shown as a fraction.

Are my numbers uploaded?

No. File reading and calculation happen in this browser. Input is not stored in the URL or sent to a calculation service. Text files must be UTF-8.
